End of Semester Conversation
When I first thought of taking engineering senior year, I never knew it entailed sketching shapes in a sketch pad. Although I wasn’t sketching the prototypes for my design group, I still know I grew in design sketching. I at least grew a little in all areas, but I grew the most this semester in the Industrial Design Process. Considering my group changed our product idea I eventually ended up creating two different prototypes for the chameleon enclosure and another two for the bird house. I know if we had began and stuck with one product, it would have been perfected with fewer flaws the prototype has now. I tremendously grew this semester in Responsibility/Work Completion. I remember for our first self assessment an area I said I needed to grow in was giving my full effort in class. The reason I felt that I wasn’t giving full effort was because I didn’t feel very challenged, but that was before we launched the design project. The project deadlines put me in check and made me realize I had to step it up. One of the goals I set and have achieved was giving my full effort/participation. I never let a question I had go unanswered and made sure my group produced quality work. It was a great accomplishment for me to grow in a goal I set, I typically just set a goal because I have to and never strive to grow in it. I am proud I did. |
