At the beginning of junior year I was hopeful that throughout the year you would change your negative attitude towards school. It’s obvious that didn’t happen. I’m not forced to like school and it’s not wrong to dislike it. But it’s different when your list of dislikes is way longer than your list of likes.
Everyone knows your attitude defines you (and your facial expressions). They’re not going anywhere right now. I think you need to experience or go through something where you’ll finally have an “aha” moment. You’ll realize all those things your dad talked to you about had meaning behind it. It will hit you as if you stepped on a rake and it whacked you right in the forehead. It may not happen during highschool, I mean if it hasn't happened in the last three years what would make the fourth so special?
I hope in the near future you have that “aha” moment and reflect on your high school self and realize how stubborn you were.
