At the start of junior year I was set on pursuing a career that involved animals. Something along the lines of animal management maybe. In order to work in that sort of field you have to take biology. I dislike biology, well as a high school student I dislike it, but that can possibly change in the future. Anyway, I thought to myself if I don't enjoy biology or science in general how am I going to be happy with what I pursue? Although being in the company of animals may change that, besides that I was stumped. Veterinarian? No. Zoologist? Maybe. I decided to dump my passion to the side and consider going into business. Business administration with an emphasis of real estate to be exact. I mean, real estate is never going away.
This last Tuesday I was helping farmer Joe water the crops in the morning. As I was standing there pulling and feeding the hose for him, he asked me what I'm considering as a career and other college related questions. I mention that I've been thinking about going into business administration. Joe asked like what specifically, I answered maybe apartments. Then he asked, "What about apartments?" I said I don't know, building apartment complexes. The moment he heard that a look of disappointment flushed his face and he said "Oh." He gave me a whole speech about how he was struggling to figure out what he wanted to pursue and the importance land.
There will be no earth left at this rate. No real land. We will be blanketed in industrial buildings. Earth's natural soil being built upon, wildlife dying. The human species is basically killing itself. Like Mel has said we have to change the world if we sit around and wait it ain't gonna change we have to be the ones to make that change. Farmer Joe have me a whole speech about why I should stick with my passion and see where it could take me. Who knows maybe I"ll create some animal sanctuary, I won't mind.
